"For those who have seen the Earth from space, and for the hundreds and perhaps thousands more who will, the experience most certainly changes your perspective. The things that we share in our world are far more valuable than those which divide us." - Donald Williams

The man talks a certain level of sense, if you actually both to sit down and think about it. It's what we need to do, yeah? Put things in perspective.

If you draw back your focus, so towns and cities all seem barely millimeters apart, where other countries don't look all that far away, and you take in the wonder that is our third rock from the sun you couldn't help but get a lump in your throat. I bet you.

Zoom in? War, sordid politics, crime, hatred and prejudice infecting almost every level of society; death, disease, poverty, starvation. It's the same old cycle through all the ages, but each time it just seems that little bit worse because we find bigger bangs to make, nastier tricks to pull and more dastardly ways to ruin our spinning green/blue sphere.

As the old proverb goes, it is not what you have, but what you do with it that counts. For better for worse, in sickness and in health, until death do we part, well at least in theory?

This is the World of Darkness, as part of the Mortals venue you put your character in a position where, whether they realise or not, they're setting themselves up to start making ripples in the pond, for better, for worse. Yes, there are things that go bump in the night, there are things that will make your skin crawl like you had bugs under it and things that make you wish the world would just make one least kind gesture and swallow you whole. The worst thing about it? Some of those things are human.

Whether you be an intrepid investigator, serial debunker or just a guy with a day job wanting to make a bit of a difference to something... that morbid curiosity is there ticking away inside, and the Mortals: World of Darkness venue is where it leads you. What will they and indeed you make of it? That choice is in the hands of the characters, will the human condition triumph or will our history of greed, hate and apathy catch the win?
